  • 625 gApple
  • 15 mlLemon juice
  • 80 mlWater
  • 3.9 gCinnamon
  • 113 gButter
  • 165 gSugar
  • 78 gOat flakes
  • 60 gFlour
  • 3 gSalt
  • 0.65 gNutmeg
  • 200 gIce cream

Instructions

    Preparation

    • Preheat a conventional oven to 180 °C.
    • Butter an ovenproof dish lightly.

    Prepare apples

    • Place the sliced apples evenly in the prepared dish.
    • Drizzle with lemon juice, add the water and sprinkle cinnamon to taste. Mix so apples don't brown.

    Make topping

    • Combine butter, brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a bowl.
    • Crumble with your fingers or two forks until you have an even, crumbly mixture.

    Bake

    • Cover the apples with the topping. Optionally sprinkle a few extra oats on top.
    • Bake 30–45 minutes until apples are soft and topping is crisp.

    Serving

    • Let cool slightly and serve warm.
    • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
