- Peel, core and slice the apples into rings about finger-thick (7–8 mm).
- Lay out four slices of toast to absorb excess fat from the finished apple slices.
- Mix baking powder, flour and salt briefly.

Make the batter
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
- Beat eggs with the milk, add sugar, then whisk into the flour mixture.
- Mix to a smooth, slightly runny batter (like pancake batter). Let rest 1–2 minutes if possible.

Fry / bake
- Warm the butter in a large pan over medium heat until it foams (or use lard and a hotter pan).
- Dip 4–6 apple slices in the batter, letting excess drip off, and place in the pan.
- Cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Do not overcrowd to avoid excess fat absorption.
- Place on the prepared toast slices, let drain briefly and sprinkle with sugar. Serve warm.
