  • 454 gSalmon
  • 1 tbspOlive oil
  • 2 tbspSoy sauce
  • 2 tbspSake
  • 2 tbspHoney
  • 4 tbspSesame seeds

Instructions

    Prepare the glaze

    • Whisk honey, soy sauce and sake in a small bowl until the honey dissolves.
    • Stir about half of the sesame seeds into the glaze and set aside the rest for garnish.

    Marinate the salmon

    • Brush the salmon with the glaze and let sit for 5–10 minutes to absorb flavors.
    • Reserve any excess glaze for cooking.

    Pan-fry

    • Heat a skillet over medium to medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
    • Sear the salmon skin-side down (if present) for 3–4 minutes, then flip.
    • Add the reserved glaze to the pan and cook another 3–4 minutes until salmon is cooked through and the glaze thickens and caramelizes.
    • Lower the heat if the glaze starts to burn.

    Serve

    • Place salmon on plates and sprinkle with the remaining sesame seeds.
    • Serve immediately (optional: garnish with sliced spring onion or lemon).
