- 100 gCoconut flakes
- 50 gAlmond
- 150 gButter
- 60 gCream
- 30 gPudding powder
- 250 gPowdered sugar

Make the base
- Line a 20 cm square tin with baking paper.
- Melt the butter with the caster sugar and cocoa powder in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth.
- Whisk in the beaten egg for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the biscuit crumbs, desiccated coconut and chopped almonds, then press the mixture firmly into the prepared tin.
- Chill for about 10 minutes until the base is set.

Custard middle layer
- Whisk the butter, cream and custard powder until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the icing sugar and continue whisking until smooth and spreadable.
- Spread over the chilled base and chill until set (at least 10 minutes).

Chocolate topping & finish
- Melt the dark chocolate with the butter in short bursts in the microwave or over a bain-marie and stir until smooth.
- Pour and spread the chocolate over the chilled bars and return to the fridge.
- Leave until the chocolate is fully set (about 2 hours), then remove from the tin and cut into squares.
