Ingredients

  • 500 gChicken breast
  • 10 gMasala
  • 240 mlLemon
  • 6 gSalt
  • 45 mlOil
  • 165 gOnion
  • 48 gChili
  • 2.5 gTurmeric
  • 303.5 gBell pepper
  • 3.5 gCoriander
  • 369 gTomato
  • 7 gGinger
  • 21 gGarlic
  • 90 gKetchup
  • 122 gSoy sauce

Instructions

    Marinate

    • Combine the chicken with lemon juice, masala and salt in a bowl.
    • Marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

    Brown the chicken

    • Heat the oil in a large pot or deep skillet.
    • Fry the marinated chicken in batches for 5–7 minutes until golden.
    • Remove and set aside.

    Onions & spices

    • Sauté the chopped onions in the remaining oil.
    • Add red chili powder, turmeric, smoked paprika and coriander and cook until fragrant.

    Tomatoes & aromatics

    • Add tomatoes, ginger and garlic.
    • Cook until tomatoes soften and start to break down.
  5. 5

    Finish

    • Stir in ketchup and soy sauce.
    • Return the fried chicken to the pot.
    • Add green chiles and sliced green peppers and simmer until cooked through.

    Serve

    • Serve hot over steamed rice.
    • Garnish if desired.
