Preparation
- Peel the cucumbers as desired (fully or partially for a striped look).
- Slice the cucumbers about ½ cm (¼ inch) thick.
- Peel and dice the white onion (or slice green onion as an alternative).
- Wash and dice or wedge the tomato.

Make the dressing
- Mix the white vinegar and water in a bowl.
- Add salt and stir until dissolved. Adjust the vinegar-water ratio to taste.

Combine and chill
- Place cucumber, onion and tomato in a bowl.
- Pour the vinegar-water dressing over so the vegetables float in clear liquid.
- Refrigerate (at least 30 minutes) and serve cool while still crisp.
