    Preparation

    • Peel the potatoes and cut into small or large wedges according to your preference.
    • Cut the chicken into small pieces and pat dry if needed.
    • Measure the water (¾ cup ≈ 180 ml).

    Fry the potatoes

    • Heat oil in a large pan or pot to about 350 °F (≈ 175 °C).
    • Fry the potato wedges in batches until light brown and crisp.
    • Remove the cooked potatoes, drain on kitchen paper and salt to taste.

    Cook the chicken

    • Fry the chicken pieces for about 5 minutes in the hot oil until lightly browned.
    • Drain the oil or transfer the chicken to another pan.
    • Salt the chicken, add ¾ cup (≈ 180 ml) water and simmer gently for 15–20 minutes.
  4. 4

    Combine and finish

    • Place the fried potatoes on top of the simmering chicken.
    • Add cumin and simmer everything together for about 20 minutes so flavors meld.
    • Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
