  • 4 pcsBurger bun

  • 15 mlOil
  • 80 gCheese
  • 4 leafSalad
  • 150 gTomato
  • 1 pcsOnion
  • 40 gSprout
  • 30 gKetchup

    Prepare

    • Place the ground beef in a large bowl.
    • Season with salt and pepper; optionally fold in finely chopped herbs or spices briefly.
    • Gently form the meat by hand into 4 evenly sized patties (from 500 g expect about 4 patties; 5–6 if made thinner). Do not overwork the meat.

    Fry or Grill

    • Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil or preheat the grill.
    • Cook patties about 4–5 minutes per side for thinner patties, or until desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for at least 71 °C (160 °F) internal temperature for fully cooked beef.
    • Optionally place a slice of cheese on each patty after flipping to melt shortly.

    Rest and Serve

    • Let patties rest 3–5 minutes after cooking so juices redistribute.
    • Place each patty on a bun and add lettuce, tomato slices, onions, sprouts and condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise or mustard if desired.
    • Serve immediately.
