  • 320 gMacaroni
  • 200 gCheese
  • 200 mlMilk
  • 5 gSalt
  • 1 gPepper
  • 6 gChives
  • 800 mlWater

    Cook the macaroni

    • Put the macaroni in a microwave-safe bowl.
    • Cover with about 800 ml of water so the pasta is just under water.
    • Microwave on high for 8–10 minutes (depending on your microwave), stirring halfway. The pasta should be al dente and most of the water absorbed or evaporated.
    • Drain any excess water if necessary.

    Add cheese and milk

    • Remove the bowl from the microwave.
    • Stir in the grated cheese and milk until evenly combined.
    • Return to the microwave for 30–60 seconds until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

    Season and serve

    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Garnish with chopped chives and serve immediately.
