- 320 gMacaroni
- 200 gCheese
- 200 mlMilk
- 5 gSalt
- 1 gPepper
- 6 gChives
- 800 mlWater

Cook the macaroni
- Put the macaroni in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Cover with about 800 ml of water so the pasta is just under water.
- Microwave on high for 8–10 minutes (depending on your microwave), stirring halfway. The pasta should be al dente and most of the water absorbed or evaporated.
- Drain any excess water if necessary.

Add cheese and milk
- Remove the bowl from the microwave.
- Stir in the grated cheese and milk until evenly combined.
- Return to the microwave for 30–60 seconds until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Season and serve
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped chives and serve immediately.
