- 450 gWheat flour
- 3 gSalt
- 8 gBaking powder
- 37.5 gSugar
- 70 gButter
- 1 pcsEgg
- 165 mlCream
- 100 gJam

Prepare
- Preheat the oven to 230 °C (450 °F).
- Line a baking sheet (no grease needed).

Mix dry ingredients
- Combine flour, salt, baking powder and 2 tbsp (approx. 25 g) sugar in a food processor or large bowl.

Work in butter
- Add cold butter pieces and pulse or cut in until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

Finish the dough
- Add the egg and just enough cream (about 120–150 ml) to form a slightly sticky dough.
- If too sticky, add a little flour; the dough should still stick a bit to your hands.

Cut and shape
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, pat into a 2 cm thick circle and cut 5 cm rounds.
- Place rounds on the baking sheet and re-roll scraps to cut more scones.

Brush and sugar
- Brush tops with a little cream (about 15 ml) and sprinkle remaining sugar (about 12.5 g).

Bake and serve
- Bake 9–11 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve warm with fruit jam.
