Prepare
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (approx. conversion of 350 °F).
- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente, drain and set aside.

Brown the beef
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until the meat is lightly browned and the onion is soft.
- Drain excess fat if desired and sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, stirring to combine.

Combine
- In a large bowl combine the beef mixture with the spaghetti/tomato sauce and mix well.
- Add the cooked pasta and stir until evenly coated.

Bake
- Grease a large baking dish with oil (about 1 EL).
- Press the meat‑pasta mixture evenly into the dish and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes, then uncover and bake a further 10 minutes until cheese is golden.
