- 800 gCabbage
- 20 gGoose fat
- 20 gButter
- 150 gOnion
- 600 mlBroth
- 50 gOatmeal
- 8 gSalt
- 200 gBratwurst
- 100 gPork belly

Preparation
- Use all leaves that are not too tough and the soft stems. Cut the cabbage into pieces and chop finely.
- Peel and finely dice the onion. Weigh the oat groats. Prepare the broth.

Sauté and Cook
- Heat goose fat and butter in a large pot over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until translucent.
- Add the chopped cabbage and briefly sauté until it wilts.
- Sprinkle the oat groats over the cabbage and briefly toast them.
- Pour in the broth so the cabbage is covered, add salt and bring to a boil.
- Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 20–30 minutes until the cabbage is tender. Stir occasionally and add more broth/water if needed.
- Season with salt to taste and serve hot.

Optional: With Sausage or Bacon
- For a heartier version, slice smoked sausage or dice pork belly.
- Fry the sausage slices or bacon cubes briefly in a pan, then add to the cabbage pot to cook along or serve on the side.
