- 3 tbspOlive oil
- 50 gBacon
- 150 gOnion
- 1 tspPepper flakes
- 400 gTomato sauce
- 85 gParmesan

Prep and cook pasta
- Bring a large pot (about 3–4 quarts) of water to a boil and salt it well.
- Add the spaghetti and cook about 6 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside briefly.

Make the sauce
- While the water heats, warm the olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add diced bacon and sauté until the fat is clear and the bacon begins to brown.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
- Add crushed red pepper and cook 2–3 more minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and heat through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the freshly grated Parmesan.

- Divide the pasta among plates and spoon the tomato-bacon sauce over it.
- Garnish with extra Parmesan if desired and serve immediately.
