Ingredients

  • 400 gApple
  • 15 mlLemon juice
  • 80 gRaisin
  • 80 gWalnut
  • 80 gCelery
  • 30 mlMayonnaise
  • 15 gSugar
  • 60 gLettuce leaf
  • 40 gMaraschino cherry

    Preparation

    • Wash apples, core and cut into wedges. Place in a large bowl.
    • Pour lemon juice over the apple wedges and toss gently to prevent browning.
    • Plump the raisins by soaking them in warm water for 5 minutes, then drain well.

    Mixing

    • Add chopped celery, drained raisins and chopped walnuts to the apple wedges and toss gently.
    • Stir mayonnaise and sugar together until smooth. Pour over the apple mixture and toss lightly to coat.

    Chill and Serve

    • Chill at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
    • Place 3 lettuce leaves on each plate, divide the salad between them and top each with 5 halved maraschino cherries.
