Prepare yogurt sauce
- Whisk the yogurt until smooth in a small bowl.
- Stir in the garlic and dried mint and season with salt to taste.

- Set the oven rack about 13 cm (5 inches) from the heat source.
- Preheat the broiler.

Mix filling and shape meatballs
- Combine the ground beef, cooked brown rice, chopped onion, cilantro, parsley, cinnamon, cumin, red pepper flakes, black pepper and ½ tsp salt in a bowl and mix well with a fork.
- Form mixture into 1½-inch (3.8 cm) meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.

Broil meatballs
- Broil the meatballs until well browned on top, 4–5 minutes.
- Turn with tongs and broil another 3–4 minutes until browned all over and no longer pink inside.
- Transfer to a serving plate and serve warm with the yogurt sauce.
