  • 245 gYogurt
  • 10 gGarlic
  • 1 gMint
  • 4.25 gSalt
  • 340 gGround beef
  • 120 gRice
  • 80 gOnion
  • 15 gCoriander
  • 15 gParsley
  • 1.3 gCinnamon
  • 0.7 gCumin
  • 0.3 gChili
  • 0.3 gPepper

    Prepare yogurt sauce

    • Whisk the yogurt until smooth in a small bowl.
    • Stir in the garlic and dried mint and season with salt to taste.
    • Keep the sauce chilled until serving.

    Preheat broiler

    • Set the oven rack about 13 cm (5 inches) from the heat source.
    • Preheat the broiler.

    Mix filling and shape meatballs

    • Combine the ground beef, cooked brown rice, chopped onion, cilantro, parsley, cinnamon, cumin, red pepper flakes, black pepper and ½ tsp salt in a bowl and mix well with a fork.
    • Form mixture into 1½-inch (3.8 cm) meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.

    Broil meatballs

    • Broil the meatballs until well browned on top, 4–5 minutes.
    • Turn with tongs and broil another 3–4 minutes until browned all over and no longer pink inside.
    • Transfer to a serving plate and serve warm with the yogurt sauce.
