  • 400 gCucumber
  • 3 gSalt
  • 10 mlSesame oil
  • 30 mlRice vinegar
  • 6 pcsBasil
  • 1.5 gChili flakes
  • 6 gSesame seeds

    Prepare

    • Peel the cucumbers and cut them into quarters lengthwise. If the seeds taste bitter, scrape them out and discard.
    • Cut the cucumbers crosswise into about 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) pieces and place in a bowl.

    Toss the salad

    • Sprinkle the cucumbers with salt and toss, let sit 5 minutes.
    • Add sesame oil, rice vinegar, chopped basil leaves and chili flakes and mix well.
    • Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately.
