Prepare
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
- Grease a 30 x 23 cm (13 x 9 inch) baking pan or line with parchment paper.

Make the mixture
- Combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup in a large bowl and mix until smooth.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla until combined.
- Fold in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly mixed.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan.

- Bake 20–22 minutes until the top is lightly browned.
- Let cool completely in the pan.
