    Prepare

    • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

    Make the dough

    • Stir the sugar and melted butter together in a large bowl until even.
    • Add the flour and mix until a thick, workable dough forms.

    Optional: Add-ins

    • Fold in chocolate chips and/or oats if using.

    Shape and bake

    • Shape the dough into balls or scoop portions onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.
    • Bake 8–12 minutes until golden at the edges and set.
    • Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
